Mayor of Charnwood at Christmas Lights Panto and Santa
The weekend of 29th November to 1st December 2024, the Mayor and Mayoress of Charnwood attended a few Christmas events in the borough, beginning with the Loughborough Lights Switch on with Felicity Chan.
Nine year old Felicity was chosen out of entrants in a competition run by Charnwood Borough Council. As the winner, she got to switch on the lights with the Mayor, Councillor Dr Julie Bradshaw MBE.

The Gala Panto, Snow White was the same evening at Loughborough Town Hall and proved to be an amazing show for the audience.
On the Sunday 1st December, the Mayor and Mayoress joined the Dame and Les Cope-Newman for the Santa Fun Run in aid of the local Rainbows Children and Young Peoples Hospice. Along with Filbert Fox, the Dame and Bow Bear, both Mayor and Mayoress warmed up the runners from the stage.
The weekend ended on another beautiful note, as the Mayor switched on the Christmas Lights at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre, when many people attended and saw the village shine and fireworks set off above the centre. The crowd cheered in delight as the lights came on.
