‘Madfish’ the Mayor of Charnwood’s Charity Talk February 2025

On 11th February 2025, The Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Dr Julie Bradshaw MBE gave a charity talk at Loughborough Beacon Rotary, Longcliffe Golf Club.
The Mayor spoke about her swimming career and how she got into long distance and marathon swimming. She spoke to her audience about her Mindset that has helped her achieve what she has and this has included her English Channel Butterfly Solo Swim in 2002 and in later years, her Butterfly Solo around the 28.5 mile course of Manhattan Island.
Dr. Bradshaw surprised the audience by touching on a ‘weird’ moment during her World Record Loch Ness Relay swim in August 2005 given it is coming up now to the 20th anniversary of that swim.
