A Wonderful Send Off to Susan Taylor
Today, 1st August 2013 saw a amazing send off to Susan Taylor who lost her life swimming the English Channel on July 14th. The service held at St. Mary’s Church, Barwell, Leicestershire saw hundreds pack into the small church and hear about the wonderful things that Susan had achieved in her life. Her favourite music was played and Susan was taken out of the church to huge applause from everyone. In true ‘Susan’ style she made everyone smile and laugh.
Susan had trained hard in the run up to her Channel swim and had been part of the Two Way World Record Medley Relay team on Windermere on June 29th as well as having completed a Channel relay for diabetes in the summer of 2012, Olympic year. The reading amazed everyone to hear that Susan had completed many challenges such as wing walking and parachute jumping as well as swimming in the nationals in early years. She was also a qualified rally driver!
The Service was a fitting tribute to a wonderful lady and friend and her family must be so proud of her. Her funds have already raised around £80000 for Rainbows and Diabetes. Here is the link so please carry on GIVING, just as Susan did.
