Dr. Julie Bradshaw MBE on Radio Lancashire about Swimming

On 24th May 2013, Dr. Julie Bradshaw MBE, multiple World Record Holder for the English Channel and other Open Water Swims including her 2011 Manhattan Island butterfly swim gives an interview on Radio Lancashire in response to the news by the ASA that many children cannot swim 25 metres by the time they enter Secondary School.

Julie, who was born and bred in Blackpool, talks about why swimming skills need to be learnt based on her own experience as both a teacher and participant. She also speaks about her own experiences in relation to school swimming lessons, her wonderful swimming teacher and her swim career which has gone on from the age of fourteen. This resulted in her first solo English Channel swim at the age of fifteen.
